Special Feature of the Week: Blendoku

It’s a short one today, but today’s feature is a game I’ve been playing lately on my iPad called Blendoku.  This is a colour puzzle game, which sounds a whole lot easier than it is.  I really like the nature of this game- if you don’t get the puzzle, you really have no other choice than to figure it out, which I think makes it that much more fun.  You can get help on one puzzle each day if you get really stuck, and I think you can buy more hints if you really want (don’t cheat!!), but there are so many levels that I can see this game keeping me entertained for years.  You don’t have to solve the puzzles in order, but they do get more difficult as the levels progress, and there are four modes (Simple, Medium, Hard and Master).  I, personally, have started on Simple Level 1 and am working my way up through the levels in order- the whole thing pleases my inner Obsessive self a great deal, I just have to remember to keep an eye on the time and not spend hours on end staring at the screen.

If you try it out and like it (or don’t) let me know!  I’d love to hear what you think.  Also, if you want to suggest something for me to talk about, let me know in a comment and I’ll have a look!

RiB: Meet Khan

Khan is the tiger.

Shere Khan is the tiger.

Shere Khan

Lifespan: 10/11/2012 – (not yet!)

Gender: male

Description: Siamese Rex (Rex is the curly fur type)

Khan was born on October 11th, 2012, one of eleven ratbabies. His mother, Seven, was pregnant when we bought her (unbeknownst to us). Khan and Kaa are very similar in appearance, and we tell them apart by their shape and size- Khan is bigger, with a wider skull.

Khan is a little shy, and likes to hide, but he’ll still play when the others get riled up! Khan and his brothers were neutered on May 30th, 2013, so they could be integrated in with the rest of the Ratty Mischief. He was named after the character in The Jungle Book.

Then I would like to direct your attention to a cool artist I met at Anime North- Necosanma (Ying-Hsuan Chen).

She doesn’t have a huge portfolio of completed works, but she does have quite a few rough works in her scrapbook.  I have to say that some of her scrapbook looks a whole lot like the finished works of some other artists, so it is definitely worth a look.

CoW: Craft of the Week Update / Haul Post

Happy Thursday, everyone.  Today’s post is a short update on my handbag making projects.  I’m planning two bags, and I’ve assembled most of the things I need to make them.  You should recognize the lining fabric and the exterior fabric from last week’s bag.  I’ll give you a full rundown of materials and quantities in the next CoW post.  I got these things from my local Fabricland and local Michael’s.
